In 2017, the ASRT conducted a nationwide survey of magnetic resonance technologists and convened the MR Safety Best Practices Committee, consisting of MR technologists and safety officers, to create a report on MR safety issues and technologist-driven best practices. A review of the literature related to MR safety as it relates to technologists also was conducted. The resulting white paper contains interesting and useful information for MR technologists, as well as for other medical imaging and radiation therapy professionals, including an overview of the modality’s evolution, the role of MR technologists, safety zones, and best practices for all health care personnel and patients.
This activity may be available in multiple formats or from different sponsors. ARRT regulations state that an individual may not repeat a self-learning activity for credit if it was reported in the same biennium.
